Worship Him system requirements

Windows Vista:

1) Does Worship Him support Windows Vista and Windows 7?

Answer:
Yes. Worship Him versions 3.7 and above are fully compatible with Windows Vista., and Worship Him versions 4.31 and higher are fully compatible with Windows 7.

General:

1) Does Worship Him support wide screen and High definition video formats?:

Answer: Yes it does. Worship Him will automatically fit whatever is being projected to the Windows desktop resolution used for the projection display. HD video clips or backgrounds will display at whatever your projection display's resolution is set at. 3X4 still backgrounds are automatically stretched to fill a 16X9 display. If you are running Windows Vista or higher 3:4 videos will also automatically be stretched to the 6:9 screen. In Windows XP you have to change a setting in the video playback window so 3:4 videos are stretched to fill a 6:9 screen. (Change the 'Video playback method' from 'Windows media player' to 'Directx'.)  The backgrounds that come with Worship Him are in 3:4 format but they are mostly nature scenes or abstract art and they look fine stretched to 16:9. Note that your computer's video card must support and be set to the 16:9 resolution that the projector requires.

2) What songs come with the full version?

Answer: The full version comes with a song database file of over 700 public domain hymns.

3) How do I access the 700+ public domain hymns?

Answer:  After installing the full version: In the Add/edit window's menu select 'File' then 'Import songs from another WH song database file'. Then, select 'Public Domain 700.mdb' from the list. A window will appear with the 700+ songs on the left, and the songs in your current song file on the right. Select the songs you want to add to your song file, then click the 'Go' button. If you want to add all of the songs, I recommend you use the 'Select new' buttons to select all of the songs in the 700+ song file that aren't already in your current song file.

4) What is your upgrade policy?

Answer: Upgrades that consist of bug fixes and minor enhancements are always free.  However, we reserve the right to charge for an upgrade when we deem enough enhancements have been added to significantly increase the value of the product.

Multiple monitors:

1)
How do I get multiple monitors to work? Or Why does the projector display the Worship Him control window (same thing as the operator's display)?

Multiple monitors is a Windows feature that allows a computer to have more than one monitor/display. Of course this means the computer must have two or more monitor outputs. Most laptops have this capability with their built-in display as one monitor and the capability to use their VGA connector for a second monitor. On the other hand, a desktop computer needs to be equipped with a dual-monitor capable video card, or two separate video cards. (You will see at least two VGA, DVI, or HDMI monitor connectors on the back of the computer.) The easiest way to add multiple monitor capability to a desktop computer is to install a new video card with multiple-monitor outputs. Most common are the Nvidia/Geoforce or Radeon based cards. Installation should be done by a professional or someone with experience assembling or upgrading computers. Once a Windows computer is setup with multiple monitors you will be able to view a different program in each monitor simultaneously. Worship Him is designed to use multiple monitors to supply the image to a video projector independently of the operator's screen. If present Worship Him can also use a third monitor output to provide a second projector display to be used as a choir/worship team feed, or a second-language projector feed.

Enabling multiple monitors:
Note: A computer that does not have dual monitor's setup properly will show the same image on both the projector and the computer screen.

1) Start with the computer turned off.
2) Plug in the projector’s VGA cable to the external VGA port on the back of the laptop, or second monitor VGA or DVI connector on the back of the desktop computer.
3) Turn on the computer and wait for Windows to finish loading.
4) Windows XP and below:  Right-click on an empty part of the windows desktop and select ‘Properties’. The ‘Display properties’ window will appear. Select the ‘Settings’ tab at the top.
Windows Vista: Right-click on an empty part of the windows desktop and select 'Personalize' then click 'Display settings'.
Windows 7: Right-click on an empty part of the windows desktop and select 'Screen resolution'.
5) You should see a picture with two monitors shown – one with a ‘1’ in it and the other with a ‘2’ in it. Click on the ‘2’ monitor and put a check in the box labeled ‘Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor’. Also, with monitor 2 still selected, look for a box that says 'This is my main monitor' or 'Use this device as my primary monitor' and make sure it is NOT checked, then click ‘OK’.
6) Run Worship Him. If Worship Him does not automatically detect and use the second monitor proceed to step 7, otherwise you’re done!
7) From the main window’s menu select ‘Options’, ‘Projector display options’ then ‘Setup projector displays’. This will bring up the projector 'Setup projector displays' window.
8) Find the ‘Monitor number’ option and set it to ‘2’.
9) Click the ‘Done’ button.

If you saw only one monitor in step 5: Either the computer does not support multiple monitors or there is a setting somewhere that needs to be changed to enable the second monitor. Look for a monitor/displays setting that has the word 'Extend' in it. Also some computers automatically disable the second monitor if nothing is plugged into it when the computer is turned on, so it's always a good idea to plug the projector in before you turn the computer on.

Video and audio playback:

3) No audio when playing video or audio clips
While playing the video or audio clip in Worship Him, click the speaker icon in the Windows system tray (near where it shows the time) and in the mini-volume window click 'Mixer'. Then in the mixer window look for the volume slider that's all the way down and put it up to full.. it should work OK now, and still allow you to control the volume from the Worship Him video or audio player window.

2) Video backgrounds only show for an instant then go black:
Windows Vista: In the Worship Time window, select 'Options' and make sure 'Disable Vista Aero' is checked.
Otherwise, the most likely cause is a video card driver issue. Try checking your video card or computer manufacturer’s website support page for updated video drivers, and download and install them if there are. If that doesn’t solve it, try reducing the resolution and/or colors setting of the second monitor in Window’s display settings.

The problem could also be caused by any unusual codecs installed. Video editing or video conversion software may install codecs that are incompatible with Worship Him’s text over video features. Also codecs that have been added to enable playback of certain video files. Uninstalling these codecs may be required for Worship Him’s text over video feature to work, but also may break your ability to play certain video files or use some video editing or conversion programs. We have found the Klite codec pack to be very compatible with Worship Him, and it's available for free. See the DVD player topic below for download and installation instructions.

Finally, some video cards or integrated graphics just don't support Worship Him's text over video. Intel chipset based video cards sometimes do not work. All of the ATI/Radeon and Nvidia/Geoforce cards and integrated graphics that we've tested have worked fine.

3) Some video formats wont play, - including Flash .FLV files:
Follow the instructions for installing the Klite codec pack in the DVD help topic below. Also, upgrade to version 4.31 or higher for complete drag-drop and browsing support for .FLV flash video files.

DVD Player:

1) No audio or you get an error message when you select 'View DVD player':

Answer: This is caused by the lack of a compatible renderer or codec. We have tested the Klite codec pack version 5.61 and found it to be compatible with Worship Him. It can be downloaded free from: Klite codec pack download

Before installing it if you have any other DVD or video codec packs installed, uninstall them first. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users should be logged in as an administrator, not a limited user. Install the Klite standard codec pack using the default installation settings, except in the 'Select components' screen scroll down to the 'MPEG2, DVD' checkbox and put a check in it and select the 'Cyberlink' codec. This is all that's required for Windows XP. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users follow the remaining steps below.

Windows Vista users continue here:
We now have a compatible codec installed, but before it can work we need to disable the non-compatible Microsoft codec. To do this you'll need to download another small utility. You can download it from here: Download
Installed Codec.zip It is a zip file. Save it to your Desktop. On most computers it will look and behave like a folder. Double-click it to open it and drag+drop the file 'installedcodec.exe' to your Windows desktop. Double-click  installedcodec.exe to run it. Then in the Installed codec window find the codec named 'Microsoft MPEG-1/DD audio decoder', right-click it and select 'Disable'.
That's it! You should now have audio in Worship Him's DVD player.

Windows 7 users continue here:
Run the 'Win7DSFilterTweaker' tool. To run it click the Windows Start button and select 'All programs', 'Klite codec pack', 'Tools', then 'Win7DSFilterTweaker'. In the 'Preferred Directshow decoding filters' window, on the left side (for 32 bit decoders), scroll down to 'Mpeg-2' and check the 'Cyberlink PDVD9' codec. Click the 'Apply' button. Then in the 'More tweaks for Windows 7' window that follows put a check next to 'Disable Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder' and click 'Apply' then click 'Yes' to exit.

That's it! You should now have audio in Worship Him's DVD player.

PowerPoint:

1) If the Worship Him window keeps popping up in front of PowerPoint by itself: This happens when Worship Him is showing something with a video background. Clear the Worship Him display by clicking the black 'Clear all' button before returning to PowerPoint and this won't happen.

 2) If you click on Worship Him while a PowerPoint show is running: The Worship Him projector display window will come up on top of and hide the PowerPoint display window. If you need to do something in Worship Him while keeping the PowerPoint display showing on the projector, click the red 'Projector window on/off' button just to the left of the mini-projector display in Worship Him's main window.

Misc:

1) When I select a gradient for the background why does it look striped instead of a smooth color transition?

Answer: You need to set your display colors to 24 bit or higher. To change to 24 bit color, right-click on an empty part of your desktop and select 'Properties'. In the 'Display properties' window, select the 'Settings' tab at the top. In the 'Settings' window, first select the monitor the projector is using and then click the arrow to the right of the 'Colors' setting and select 24 bit (or higher) then click 'OK'. On some systems it may be necessary to set all monitors to 24 bit or higher.

2) Transition performance and computer speed:
For transitions to be fast, you will need at least a Pentium 3 computer with a good quality video card. A poorly performing video card will slow down even a fast computer. Excellent quality AGP video cards can be purchased nowadays for ~$60.00. The ATI Radeon cards, like the 7000 model and up are good cards. Don't skimp on this important area in your presentation computer! Another thing that can help speed things up is to set your video card to 24bit color depth (if your video card supports 24bit) instead of 32 bit. To do this: from control panel, select 'Display properties'. Then select the 'Settings' tab at the top of the display properties window. Now under color depth, select 24bit. You need at least 24bit for good quality gradient backgrounds and the best looking background pictures, but 16bit color will get you some more speed if you need it, and will do in a pinch especially if you do not use the gradients for backgrounds.
